Richard Jordan September 12, 1939 - June 25, 2024 New Athens, Illinois - Richard L. "Jaws" Jordan, 84, of New Athens, formerly of Belleville, IL, born September 12, 1939, in Norfolk, VA, died Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL. Mr. Jordan served 6 years in the Army Reserves at the Belleville Reserves Center. He later served 20 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. He served in Vietnam for 1967-1968. After his USAF retirement, he worked in Civil Service at SAFB, IL. Richard was a member of the 102nd QM Company Army Reserves, Belleville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Virginia, nee Lee, Jordan. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Sandra L., nee Zimmer, Jordan; a son, Scott Kelly Jordan; a daughter, Sara Wahneta Jordan; five grandchildren, Tiffany and Cody Jordan, and Tylor Sanders, Karlie Hubbard, and Christopher Karateew.
