Leroy "Lee" Hancock, 84, of New Athens, IL, born October 8, 1939, in Fairdealing, MO, passed away on Monday August 19, 2024, at Oak Hill Care Center in Waterloo, IL. He retired from the United Parcel Service after 31 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of First Baptist Church in Freeburg, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Charles and Louisa (Timmons) Hancock and one brother – Ray Hancock.
Lee is survived by his loving wife – the former Marilyn Brown, whom he married on August 8, 1965, in Marissa, IL, his 4 children – Jeff (Robin) Hancock of Sparta, IL, Mark (Deb) Hancock of Sparta, IL, John (Rhonda) Hancock of Sparta, IL and Jay (Candace) Hancock of New Athens, IL, one brother – Everett (Mary) Hancock of Granite City, IL, 16 grandchildren – Amanda (Caleb) Bradshaw, Apryl (Austin) Bradshaw, Jenny Hancock, Jeffrey (Alyssa) Hancock II, Samuel Hancock, Micah Hancock, Miriam Hancock, Matthew Hancock, Philip (Patricia) Hancock, Zach Hancock, Jacob Hancock, David Hanco
