Sandra Vacca January 17, 1938 - August 16, 2024 Glen Carbon, Illinois - Sandra "Sandy" J. Vacca, 86 years of age, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024. She was born on January 17, 1938 in Alton, IL to George and Geneva, nee Narup, Hoehn. Sandy attended Marquette High School and graduated in the class of 1956. She married Francis "Butch" G. Vacca and had three children. She later began her career working for the Unit 10 School District at Dorris Elementary School as Secretary to the principal. She was a proud member of Music Makers, Kappa Pi Social Sorority, and the Red Hat Society. She had a passion for singing, music, camping and traveling. She also enjoyed a weekly card club with dear friends playing Canasta and Pinnacle. Sandy will be fondly remembered for her talent in ceramics, toll painting, decorating, her love of the holidays (especially Christmas), and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
